My experience in Orlando for the 2010 Romance Writers of America convention was a happy and fulfilling one. But let’s just say I had my butt kicked on Day #1 by the happiest place on the world. I ventured out on Tuesday July 27th with two other authors to have some fun in the sun before the conference festivities began. I’ll post my Day #2 adventures tomorrow.
Here are some pictures. Yep, it took me forever and a day to get this post up. I’m the new VP of Communications for the Young Adult Chapter of RWA so I’m all over the place now.
I managed to ride:
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
- Rock and Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith (God in Heaven the pain…)
- The Great Movie Ride
- It’s a Small World
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- The Haunted Mansion
All of this over a 6+ hour span after jumping off the plane. I was out late enough to see the fireworks show in the Magic Kingdom at 11. Oh, man did I shuffle back to the hotel after that!
A picture of Cinderella’s castle.

Hollywood Studios movie ride – nice and quiet
This ride kick my butt… I practically limped from this puppy.
Why yes, I do have a little Captain Morgan in me. (Pirates of the Caribbean)
Hollywood Studies photo – before I melted in the heat…
More walking in Hollywood Studios
After you ride the Tower of Terror they take your picture. Unfortunately, I was one of the souls who disappeared…
I took this picture while waiting in line for the Tower of Terror. For some reason this resembles home.
Cute pics! Sounds like it was quite an adventure!
HaHa! "Resembles home" *snort*
